When you click the Download button, a File Download window will open; choose Save to store the files on a convenient folder on your PC. Note: If  you receive a standard warning about the danger of downloading files from un-trusted sources, please be aware that we take every precaution to ensure our software is virus-free.

The download screens will vary slightly depending on your browser version and operating system. Selecting Save normally saves the file to your Download folder. Selecting Save As gives you the option to choose a different folder.

Once the download has finished, click Open Folder to open the folder where the download has been saved.

The Controller Series files are compressed to reduce their size for downloading. Before you can use them they must be returned to their original size. This is called extracting or unzipping the file. To extract the file (unzip), right click the folder you have just downloaded and choose Extract All. Once the file is unzipped it is ready for use. PLEASE DO NOT OPEN IT UNTIL YOU HAVE CONFIGURED EXCEL.

Corporate Editions of the Controller Series use macros and VBA programming code. Excel's macro security needs to be configured to allow the macros and code to run.

Start Excel with a blank workbook open and select Tools / Options from Excel's menu.

Click the Security tab. Then, under Macro Security, click the Macro Security button.

Select Medium Security Level

We recommend you select Medium. This means you will be asked each time you open an Excel workbook that contains macros whether you want to Disable or Enable the macros.

If you select Low you won't be warned if a workbook contains macros. Low should only be used if you have anti-virus software installed and you trust all your software suppliers.

Select the Trusted Publishers tab and ensure the Trust access to visual Basic Project is checked.

Install Add-Ins

Our financial spreadsheets make use of advanced functions in Excel's Analysis ToolPak and Solver Add-in. You need to check they are both installed and loaded into Excel. From the Excel menu select Tools / Add-Ins to open the Add-Ins window.

Make sure the both the Analysis ToolPak and Solver Add-In are checked. Click OK to close the window.

Note: If you're asked for the Excel installation CD, it's because the Add-Ins weren't originally installed along with Excel. Before you can use an add-in, you must first install it on your computer and then load it into Excel.

Congratulations, you're know ready to go! Simply open the spreadsheet like any other Excel file. From the Excel menu, select File / Open and select the Controller Series file you have just downloaded.

If you have set your macro security to medium, you will receive a macro Security Warning. Click Enable Macros to continue.
